ABOUT

Welcome to Not Really Random!

Hey there! I’m Lisa, and I’m glad you’ve found your way to Not Really Random. Whether you stumbled across the site or someone shared a post with you, it’s no accident you’re here.

Most of the moments that shape our lives don’t look important at the time. They feel ordinary. Random, even. But over time, we begin to see them differently. We begin to notice that God was present in them all along. That’s the heart behind Not Really Random.

Not Really Random is a space for reflections on faith, everyday life, and the quiet ways God meets us in ordinary moments. You’ll find reflections across faith, family, fitness, finance, and fun — the areas that shape everyday life.

Some posts grow out of scripture. Others come from real-life experiences — the questions, the challenges, the growth along the way.

I don’t write as someone who has everything figured out. I write as someone still learning, still growing, and discovering that God often shows up in the places we least expect.

Because sometimes the moments that seem random…aren’t random at all.

A Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Lisa — writer, author, and the voice behind Not Really Random.

Writing has become one of the ways I process what God is teaching me and share those reflections with others walking through similar seasons.

When I’m not writing, you can usually find me:

  • being a wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend
  • caring deeply about family, faith, and building something meaningful
  • competing fiercely (because I love to win!)
  • laughing at life’s quirks (because I love to laugh!)
  • giving world-class singing performances…just not out loud and
  • trying out new experiences (because life’s too short not to).

I’m passionate about being a resource to others and creating a space where we can grow honestly and intentionally together.

My Journey

My journey hasn’t always been smooth. I’ve been married, divorced, and remarried. Each season has shaped my faith and taught me about love, resilience, forgiveness, and growth.

Like many of you, I’m a work in progress. I don’t have it all together, and I don’t claim to be an expert. But I’m continuing to move forward — learning, growing, and trusting God with the process.

As it says in Philippians 3:12–14 (KJV):

I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward–to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us.
