An Invitation
I love that I have a front-row seat to nature.
The frogs. The deer. The turtles.
Sunsets perched on branches.
Trees dressed in gold and orange leaves.
These moments have captured my attention. They carry a beauty that fills my heart with a joy that can’t help but recognize how good — and how creative — God is.
Recently, I opened my bedroom curtains to welcome the day. I immediately spotted this guy — a red-tailed hawk perched just outside my window.
I wasn’t looking for anything extraordinary. I was just letting the light in.
I called my husband over so he could see it too. He stood beside me, also captured by the moment.
Some quick research — thank you, ChatGPT — tells me that young red-tailed hawks often stay close to home.
They perch.
They observe.
They wait.
We’re always learning from nature — how to build, how to move, how to pay attention.
Sometimes nature simply provides an invitation to let in the light, to share, to observe, and to wait.
In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. —Isaiah 30:15
